Day 1 with the Cousins

Caleb and Graham arrived in Las Vegas on Thursday night, but they didn't see their cousins until Friday morning. After they were introduced to Lyla, they spent the rest of the day hard at play. They took a quick spin around the house checking out all the toys and being introduced to where Owen and Max live, but the majority of their time was spent outside playing in the dirt and on the "playground!"


These boys were quite exhausted at the end of the day!

Lyla meets her Cousins

Lyla got to meet her cousins Caleb and Graham this weekend. They came on an airplane for the very first time from Chicago just to meet her...well and to play with Owen and Max. We were very excited to have them in town. Graham the two-year-old was especially interested in holding her.


Lyla was happy to meet them, but Owen was most excited to have his cousins at his house to play. More posts to follow on their cousin time.

Mommy and Max time

I had the opportunity to spend a little one on one time with Max the other day. Owen was at preschool and Lyla was sleeping. Max was in need of some Mommy time. I sat on the floor and watched him go down the little slide in the playroom, he was just do darn cute it was hard to believe he was just hitting his sleeping sister seconds before!

Hungry Baby

Owen informed me the other night that the baby was hungry, but he wasn't talking about Lyla! In fact, I was feeding Lyla, when Owen came over with his doll, sat down on the couch beside me, pulled up his shirt, and started feeding his baby!



The next day, we went to U-Swirl for a little frozen yogurt treat. Owen had to bring his baby and wouldn't you know, the baby got hungry while we were there! Owen proceeded to lift his shirt and feed the baby. Gavin unfolded a napkin and laid it across him to give him some privacy! Unfortunately for us, (fortunately for Owen), the camera was at home!!!:)

Pretty Girl

Lyla wore her first little dress the other day and after our little photoshoot, she spit up all over it. Before wearing this outfit, I attempted to browse the little girl's section at Target two different days and she cried and cried and cried. This better not be a sign that she is going to be a little girl who refuses to wear dresses, because I am starting to stock her closet!

Sick Kid

Grandma Debbie's first day here and Owen had a temperature of 103.5! It wasn't that high the whole day, but spiked that high by the time Gavin got home mid afternoon. I was on the phone with the doctor's office to try and get a sick appointment, as I was taking his temperature again with Tylenol in his system and it was even higher than before the tylenol. I informed the receptionist of how high the fever was, she consulted the nurse, and we were instructed to go to the Emergency Room. While Gavin was getting changed to take him, his temperature went back down to 102, even though I felt like a horrible mother I called the doctor's office back to see if we could just go there and avoid the emergency room. (It is the difference of $130) She again consulted the nurse and gave us permission to just go to the office.

Gavin took him because I had to tend to Lyla, he called later to tell me that he was fine and that it was just the flu bug. They said the fever could last 3-8 days, luckily it only lasted 2.5.



Of course, while Owen was sick on the couch, Max had to pretend he was sick too. Can you tell which one has the fever?

Papa Steve is Here

The boys are very excited this morning to have Papa Steve here. They rode wtih Daddy last night to pick him up and are very wound up this morning as well.

Oddly, they are also letting Grandma do more things for them this morning since he is here. Max let Grandma change his dirty diaper, Owen let her get his milk and cereal, and while Max was at the table eating his yogurt and we were all in the family room visiting, Max yelled for Grandma to come help him! This is a nice change of events from, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!!"

Lyla is enjoying having another person here to cuddle with.
